Department of Anesthesia Techniques
The Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Medical Sciences Technologies at Mashreq University was established by Diwani Order No. (22982) dated 9/12/2020. It is one of the modern departments that graduate specialized cadres to work in the field of anesthesia techniques and intensive care in operating theaters as well as in intensive care and recovery units, where the graduate is given the title (medical technician) specializing in anesthesia.
The period of study in this major is four academic years; During which the student completes the study of a total of one hundred and seventy-six academic units over four full academic years, following the course system.
The Message
The Department of Anesthesia Techniques seeks to graduate a sober scientific cadre, armed with sufficient information that keeps pace with the labor market, taking into account the modern technologies that researchers reach day after day, with a focus on presenting scientific research in the field of specialization, and publishing it in global capacities.
Goals 🎯
1. Scientific cadres graduated in the specialty.
2. The student is able to participate in cases of resuscitation and intervention as necessary.
3. The student learns the skills required to deal with different cases in anesthesia and intensive care.
4. The student learns how to prepare the medicines and solutions required for anesthesia.
5. Enabling students to obtain knowledge and intellectual and skillful understanding of anesthesia devices and methods of their maintenance.
6. Training the student to anesthetize the patient under the supervision of the anesthesiologist.
7. Linking academic studies with practical experience.

Areas of work of a graduate of the Department of Anesthesia Techniques
The graduate from the Department of Anesthesia Techniques obtains a Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia Techniques (Anesthesia Medical Technologist), as this certificate qualifies him to do the following:
Providing the necessary health care in each of the operating theaters, intensive care units, and recovery rooms.
Assisting in the preparation and preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to performing surgeries.
Ensure the availability of necessary medications for surgeries.
Preparing the patient's position before starting the surgery.
Follow the steps of total, mid- and local anesthesia required for surgeries.
Work in the emergency department to resuscitate emergency cases.
