Department of Medical Physics

The Department of Medical Physics was established in the College of Technologies of Medical Sciences at Al-Mashreq National University pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. (204) on 12/8/2021 and Ministerial Order (8399) on 12/13/2020. The Department of Medical Physics is a new and qualitative addition in the field of physical sciences. By following modern scientific methods and studied methodological means and using them in various health applications.

Goals 🎯

The department aims to graduate and qualify a cadre specialized in the field of medical physics, who have the ability to provide supportive medical services in the field of diagnosis and treatment with high quality, such as medical imaging using X-rays, magnetic resonance, radiation therapy and other related fields. The department also contributes to the development of scientific and health research, Opening new horizons and concepts in health physics applications.​

Vision

Preparing cadres possessing scientific knowledge, distinguished skills, and medical trends that qualify the bearer to operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in hospitals and advanced laboratories, keeping abreast of continuous scientific and technological progress, and successful integration into relevant work environments.

Section outputs

1 - Know how to work on sonar, resonance, x-ray and other diagnostic devices.

2- Knowing how to work on ECG devices (brain, ear, heart, nerves, etc.).

3 - Learn about the pulmonary function unit and the physical therapy unit.

4 - Learn how to work within the nuclear medicine unit.
